Trends & Conditions
Professional-only results from Ironman (full distance), Ironman 70.3, and T100 racing. Compare split-time trends across seasons and see how race-day conditions line up with performance.
Top 3 split & overall time trend
Each point is the average of that race's top 3 finishers for that split (less noisy than a single winner's time), with a shaded band showing ±1 standard deviation across the top 3. A tighter band means the podium was close together; a wider band means a bigger spread. Each split gets its own scale so the band is visible — swim spreads are naturally much smaller in absolute terms than overall-time spreads. Overall
Fastest recorded splits
The single fastest swim, bike, and run split on record, grouped by race brand and category — split times aren't comparable across brands since the distances differ (Ironman full vs. 70.3 vs. T100).
Race-day conditions
Environmental temperature, humidity, WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature — the standard heat-stress index used to flag endurance race risk), and wind, each set against the corresponding winning split. Wind is the average of Open-Meteo's hourly readings across the 07:00-16:00 window covering pro race time (start through the last pro finishers), not a single daily gust peak.

Conditions vs. performance correlation
Each point is one finisher's individual split time against the condition recorded for that race — not a race-level average, so a race with 40 finishers contributes 40 points. WBGT is used for bike and run (the combined heat-stress measure) rather than raw air temperature; water temperature is used for swim, and is only available for races where it was recorded. Pearson's r is computed on whatever points are currently visible, so filtering to one brand above will change the sample. Trend line shown when there are at least 3 points.
